GROVE CITY, OH — In an ambitious display of Midwestern humility, a brand-new Grove City satire website has launched, proudly touting itself as “basically The Babylon Bee, if The Babylon Bee was written on a Chromebook in a basement, fueled entirely by Transcend coffee.”
The anonymous creator says the project’s mission is simple: “We noticed Grove City had no dedicated satire outlet, and frankly, we intend to keep it that way. This is more of a hobby.”
Early articles include such hard-hitting local scoops as:
- Breaking: Feral Geese Establish Autonomous Zone at Southpark Pl
- Columbus Rd Construction Project Enters 37th Year, Locals Celebrate With Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony at Temporary Detour
- New Chain Promises to Revolutionize Local Dining With Concept Called “Not a Steakhouse”
The site’s editorial staff consists of “one person and occasionally a cat walking across the keyboard.”
When asked about competing with national satire giants, the founder replied: “We don’t need a huge audience. We just a few folks who’ll read it during their lunch break and think, ‘heh.’ If that happens, we’ve done our job.”
Plans for the future include expanding coverage to nearby areas, “as soon as we figure out how to spell Hiliard without Googling it.”
